on your First Visit

The first visit at the Soft Tissue Center is a two-hour appointment. Once the initial intake forms are completed, an hour is allocated for the patient history and examination. A second hour is allocated to begin treatment, if treatment is indicated.

We often have complicated cases referred to us. These cases may require the entire two hours for the history and examination only.

We may conclude that additional clinical data is required before treatment can begin. This additional data may be in the form of various imaging studies (x-ray, MRI, CT scan, MR neurography, MR angiography, bone scan, bone density studies) or electrodiagnostic studies (EMG, nerve conduction velocity, F-wave). Treatment may, or may not, be initiated before these studies are performed and this decision will be made on a case by case basis.

The patient’s insurance coverage will be verified and the results will be explained. This will occur as soon as the insurance company responds to our inquiry. A copy of this verification will be provided to the patient.

We do not participate in any insurance network plan. Again, we will verify the patient’s insurance for out of network coverage. Even though we are not part of the network, the insurance policy will still cover our services and will pay varying amounts of the bill.

We are not now, nor have we ever been, Medicare providers.

We do not accept insurance payment as payment in full. Insurance co-payment is expected at the time services are rendered.

The sports medicine background for the Soft Tissue Center staff is significant. Drs. Horrigan and Tunnell have achieved the highest level of chiropractic sports medicine (Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians). Dr. Moreau has achieved the staus of Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner and Dr. Velasquez is eligible to sit for this examination. Dr. Velasquez has served as Staff Chiropractor, Co-Team Chiropractor and now Team Chiropractor for the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Drs. Moreau and Tunnell also serve as Staff Chiropractors for this hockey team. All of the doctors participate in the Sports Performance Testing for the Los Angeles Kings and Long Beach Ice Dogs. Dr. Horrigan also participated in midseason performance testing for the Los Angeles Clippers. Members of this staff have also worked may track and field meets providing care for our competing patients, as well as working aerobic and fitness competitions.
